Chapter 89 The Red River Incident
Chapter 90 The Changes in the Red River (Seeking First Subscription!)
Los did not appear to meet Queen Maeve; the time was not yet right.
Returning to my New York apartment from the Middle East.
While Los was still in mid-air, the communication device on his suit received a call from Kate: "Just now, the Wise Man approached Principal Shetty, hoping to reach a cooperation agreement with her. He said he would strongly support her to become Vice President, in exchange for supporting Homelander to enter the White House in the future."
"It was bound to happen sooner or later." Los was not surprised by this.
It must be the blows dealt to the Iron Legion in the Middle East today that have made the Homelanders so eager to expand their power and influence.
Kate continued, "I can sense that if Ms. Shetty doesn't agree, the Wise Men might take action against her."
The wise approach is clearly to support a vice president and then cause an unexpected event to occur to the incumbent president.
This way, there's no need to wait until the president's term ends.
After all, it's not uncommon for presidents to suffer unexpected mishaps throughout history.
Los thought for a moment and replied, "Ms. Shetty can agree."
Will count.
Before the end came, Los hoped to use the ambitions of Homelander and the Wise Men to gather most of the maggots in this world and annihilate them in one fell swoop.
This idea, which was somewhat unbenevolent and even bordering on madness, was approved by the ghost of the Unjust Superman.
Iron Man's ghost didn't care at all.
He even suggested that Los create a steel legion capable of protecting the entire world, thus truly replacing the military.
These two old men, in some ways, are true world hegemons, with an iron-fisted approach.
After receiving Los's reply, Kate said softly, "I understand. Are you free tonight?"
Just as Los was about to reply, Jordan called.
"Kate, maybe next time."
Los switched phones on Monday, and his female roommate's voice came through the phone: "Boss, where are you now?"
Looking down at the vast, deep blue sea, he replied, "Over the Atlantic, almost back in New York."
Jordan said in a mocking tone, "It's great to be able to fly, Boss~, make me a suit of Iron Man armor, I'll do anything for you!"
Los said calmly, "Jordan, I still prefer your original aloofness. Please maintain that."
"Damn it! Am I really that unfeminine?!"
Jordan cut to the chase and got straight to the point: "Didn't you previously ask me to sponsor and support the Red River Orphanage?"
Los squinted. The Red River Orphanage belonged to the Water Corporation.
Red River University holds many underage superhumans who were abandoned by their parents because of the superpowers they gained from Compound V. When they reach a certain age, they will be admitted to Godotkin University.
Los was originally a member of the Red River Orphanage, and the dying words of Newman, the woman who was shot in the head, reminded him to ask Jordan to keep an eye on things.
Jordan continued, "Just today, Newman's daughter was taken to Red River Orphanage, and according to AI Monday's observations, some unusual things are happening there. I'm driving there right now."
"I see."
The sea broke through the shockwaves, and Los slightly adjusted his flight direction, changing his original apartment location to the Red River Orphanage.
He had promised Newman, the woman who was shot in the head, that he would take her daughter out of the Red River.
Also.
With the end imminent, Los felt it was time to take over the Red River Orphanage to prevent the underage superhumans from being persecuted by the Sages.
Ten minutes later.
Jordan had just arrived at the entrance of the Red River Orphanage in his sports car when he discovered that the passenger seat, which had been empty, was now occupied by Los, who had changed into casual clothes.
In her female form, she wore a sharp, androgynous suit, her poker face devoid of emotion. She patted her chest lightly and said, "Boss, you really are elusive. You'll give me a heart attack sooner or later."
"At worst, we'll just replace your arc reactor core."
As he spoke, Los's gaze fell on the front trunk of the sports car.
His X-ray vision caught sight of a familiar petite figure curled up in the trunk. He couldn't help but ask curiously, "Why did you bring her along?"
"Who?" Jordan looked at Los in confusion.
Los removed his X-ray vision and discovered that Jordan indeed knew nothing about it.
"Never mind her, let's go up."
Los looked up at the Red River Orphanage, which resembled a large residential building.
Although the Red River Orphanage is affiliated with the Water Group, its regulatory oversight is far less stringent than that of Godotkin University and the Philosopher's Grove.
Jordan easily bypassed the security checkpoint by using his sponsorship status.
Los and Jordan went up to the second floor without any hindrance.
In the main hall on the second floor of the orphanage, several pairs of bright, dark eyes immediately turned to the two of them with alarm; they were both underage superhumans.
Jordan forced a smile that he thought was gentle, and reassured everyone, "Don't be afraid, we are sponsors and have no ill intentions towards you."
Boys and girls of all ages immediately crowded together.
Los pinched Jordan's cheek and said gently to the children, "Although this guy has a cold face, he's actually a nice guy."
The children looked at each other and visibly relaxed.
Jordan's fist hardened instantly as he glared resentfully at Los's harmless, sunny face.
Damn it, just because you're good at modeling doesn't mean you can do whatever you want!
Los asked, "Who is Newman's daughter, Zoe?"
An adorable white girl, around eight years old, emerged from the crowd, encouraged by a black girl.
She wore her hair in pigtails, a white dress, and stared longingly at Los.
Los whispered to the little girl, "I'm your mother's friend. You can choose to stay here, or you can come with us."
.
The other children looked on with extreme envy when they heard this.
They are all abandoned superhuman children. Even if they have parents, they have lost contact with them and are under the supervision of orphanage staff every day.
If someone accidentally uses their superpowers, they will be forcibly imprisoned in a more stringent detention center.
Jordan nudged Los lightly and asked in a low voice, "Boss, how do you take care of kids?"
Los retorted, "Can't you bring it?"
Jordan:
Her superpower is creating clones, right? She can split herself into ten clones!
The little girl hesitated for a moment, then stepped forward and grasped the hands of Los and Jordan respectively, as if she were grasping the future.
"etc."
Among the children in the orphanage, the Black girl who had been there earlier walked out excitedly.
"Are you senior Los? I've seen your picture and heard about your deeds on the Godotkin School forum!"
She looked at Los, breathing rapidly, and gestured excitedly, saying, "My name is Mary, and I also want to apply to Godotkin University in the future, but unfortunately I'm not old enough right now."
Loswen said, "Godokin University will be holding an extra recruitment drive this month, and the age limit will be significantly relaxed. You can all apply."
In the impending final chapter, Godotkin University should be the last sanctuary and only refuge for superhumans in New York.
"Really? That's wonderful!"
Mary excitedly reached out her hand, as if to shake hands with Ross, but in the next instant, she revealed her already cut palm.
Jordan's eyes widened in surprise, before she could react.
A large amount of blood gushed from Mary's palm, and the blood turned into sharp spikes that stabbed at both Los and Jordan at the same time!
