Chapter 9 Mai, Enxi, go and capture Lu Mingfei.

"Long Legs, what's the boss up to by suddenly asking for the Chen family's list? Is he planning something big again?"

In a luxuriously decorated hotel suite, a graceful young woman was lounging lazily on a soft bed, clutching a large bag of potato chips in her arms, her cheeks puffed out, looking just like a little hamster busy hoarding food.

"I don't know. I'm just a fighter, I don't understand your intricacies. I suggest you ask the boss directly."

The "long-legged" woman, who was touching up her makeup in front of the mirror, replied without even looking up.

Her proportions were perfect, especially her legs, which were long, straight, and shapely. Men were itching to look at her, and women could only feel envy. The girl curled up in bed was also a rare beauty, but standing next to her, she instantly looked like an ugly duckling that hadn't fully grown, and was overshadowed by her.

The girl pouted, crunched a tomato-flavored potato chip, and mumbled indistinctly:

"Ask the boss? Do you want to be frozen into an ice pop by his icy gaze? Last time I asked one more question about the mission details, he looked at me like I was a mouse that had stolen his treasured wine."

Long Legs finally put down her lipstick and turned around, her legs appearing even more dazzling in her black lace nightgown. She walked to the liquor cabinet, poured herself a glass of amber whiskey, and traced her fingertips along the cool glass: "The boss's thoughts are never something we should try to guess. You, Potato Chips, should know that better than anyone..."

"My lovely girls, what are you talking about? Are you perhaps gossiping about your boss behind his back?"

A boy's voice suddenly rang out behind them, like icicles hitting glass, sending a chill down their spines.

The moment the words left her lips, the long-legged woman's glass trembled, nearly spilling the entire glass of whiskey onto the expensive carpet; the potato chip bag, as if frozen in place, slipped from her grasp, scattering tomato-flavored chips all over the bed. She stared, mouth agape, for a long time before finally managing to stammer, "Boss? Can you please stop appearing and disappearing like that? You scared me to death!"

"Haha, don't worry, I'm in a good mood today. Even if you're really saying bad things about me, I can forgive you."

The boy strolled over to the potato chip shop, reached out and patted her shoulder, the movement as light as a feather.

But Potato Chips seemed to have been struck by lightning, shuddering all over and almost rolling off the bed. She knew very well what kind of world-destroying power this seemingly harmless "child" in front of her actually possessed—an absolute pressure that even the Dragon King would bow down to, a terrifying existence that could make the entire mixed-race world tremble.

What terrified her even more was that her boss's smile today was particularly glaring. Having worked for him for so long, she had never seen him smile so "brightly." That smile was like an icicle coated in sugar, sweet yet harboring a chilling coldness.

She was almost certain that the boss had overheard their conversation and was now just saying the opposite of what he meant, feigning magnanimity so that he would settle scores later.

"Ha, ha... Boss, we were just joking, how could we dare say anything bad about you? Right, Long Legs?" Potato Chips's laugh was more like a grimace, as he nudged Long Legs with his elbow, desperately trying to squint at her, looking like a hamster being chased by a cat, practically screaming, "Say something! Change this damn topic!"

"Boss, do you have a new mission this time?" Long Legs understood immediately and subtly changed the subject.

"There is a new task, but before I talk about that, I need to tell you something—" The boy deliberately dragged out his words, casually tapping the table with his fingertips until Long Legs and Potato Chips instinctively tensed up, before he spoke lightly:

"The Chen family is gone. Enxi, you can start preparing to acquire all of the Chen family's businesses. If there are any obstacles, Mai can help you resolve them."

Upon hearing this, both Jiu De Mai and Su Enxi were stunned for a moment before recovering from their shock. They exchanged a glance, seeing the same bewilderment in each other's eyes. Confirming they hadn't misheard, Su Enxi spoke with disbelief:

"Boss, are you telling the truth? The Chen family you're referring to is the legitimate Chen family?"

"What else?" the boy replied in a matter-of-fact tone.

Silence fell between them once more. They exchanged a glance, both knowing what the other was thinking—this unfathomably powerful boss had just ordered them to investigate the Chen family's background, and then brought news of the Chen family's annihilation; what had happened in between was unnecessary to ask.

"Could it be that you, Boss, have finally broken free of the seal and personally destroyed the Chen family?" Jiu De Mai broke the silence first, her voice low and trembling slightly.

"Hahaha, of course not. If I could break free of the seal on my own, I would have done it long ago. Why wait until now?" The boy laughed loudly, his laughter tinged with self-mockery.

"Then who exactly did it?" Su Enxi leaned forward, her eyes full of curiosity.

"Of course it's my dear brother."

"Pfft—cough cough cough..." Upon hearing this, Mai Shude spat out a mouthful of whiskey. Fortunately, she reacted quickly and turned her face away in an instant, preventing the liquor from splashing onto the boy. However, she choked and coughed repeatedly, and the corners of her eyes turned red.

Su Enxi, standing to the side, was so startled that she loosened her grip, and the potato chip bag she had just torn open fell to the ground with a "clatter," scattering golden potato chips all over the floor like scattered gold dust, but she was completely unaware.

"Brother? Boss, you have a brother?" Su Enxi was the first to recover from her shock, her voice filled with disbelief. She simply couldn't imagine that this "monster" who could even crush the Dragon King actually had an older brother. If the boss's power was already terrifying, then how powerful and chilling must his brother be?

"Of course! Aren't you guys observing him every day?" the boy said jokingly.

"Huh...?" Su Enxi's mind didn't quite process what was happening, but Jiu De Mai, who had finally stopped coughing, was the first to react:

"Boss, you're not talking about a little white rabbit, are you?"

As soon as she spoke, Mai noticed the look Su Enxi was giving her—a look as if she were looking at an idiot. Even she herself thought the answer was utterly absurd.

After observing him for over a decade, Lu Mingfei was just an ordinary, unlucky kid. If there was anything about him that "exceeded ordinary people," it was probably his unlucky constitution that defied all odds. How could this guy, who seemed to step in dog poop every time he walked, silently wipe out a mixed-race family with a history of over a hundred years? The more Jiu De Mai thought about it, the more she felt she had lost her mind.

To their surprise, after hearing Mai Shude's words, the boy slowly nodded, his expression seeming to say, "That's right, it's him."

Mai Shude and Su Enxi froze on the spot. One was holding her wine glass and forgot to put it down, while the other had her mouth agape and forgot to close it. The whole room was eerily quiet. You could hear a pin drop, and even the sound of Su Enxi's potato chip crumbs rolling on the floor.

"Alright, let's get back to business."

The boy spoke, pulling the two, who were so shocked they were completely bewildered, back to reality.

"Mai, Eun-seo, I have one last task for you. If you can complete it, the contract between you and me will end—from that moment on, you will regain true freedom."

These words were like a bombshell, instantly stunning Mai Shude and Enxi Su, who had just barely regained their senses. Mai Shude's hand holding the wine glass trembled slightly, while Enxi Su subconsciously pinched herself—they even began to suspect that the boss in front of them was an imposter.

After all, how could that heartless capitalist who treats them as free labor and wants them to work around the clock say something like "freedom in exchange for completing a task"? Are they still reeling from the shock, or has the world itself gone mad?

But the boy didn't care about their emotions and continued speaking to himself:

"Mai, Enxi, go and capture Lu Mingfei."

"Ah, us?" Jiu De Mai and Su Enxi said in unison, pointing to themselves with blank and helpless expressions, looking like two little demons from Journey to the West who were ordered by the Demon King to capture Tang Sanzang and his disciples, their minds filled with confusion and helplessness.

"Boss, if you don't like us, just say so. I'll change, okay? There's no need to make things so difficult for us; it's like you're sending us to our deaths!"

Su Enxi was on the verge of tears. Who was Lu Mingfei? Although in their observation of him for the past ten years or so, he was just a loser. But the boss had just admitted that the loser had now become a dragon overnight. He could wipe out a mixed-race family with an ancient history. With her and Jiude Mai's abilities, they were no different from two bean sprouts in front of Lu Mingfei. They probably wouldn't even be enough to fill a tooth gap.

Mai, who was standing to the side, nodded vigorously, agreeing with Su Enxi's words.

"Don't worry, I'm not sending you to your deaths." The boy's voice carried a hint of mockery. He produced a crystal goblet from somewhere, filled with rich red wine. He took a small sip, his gaze sweeping over Mai and Su Enxi before slowly saying, "What I mean is, get into my brother's bed—win him over that way."

Su Enxi and Jiu De Mai were both stunned again, staring at each other, unable to react for a long time. After a full half minute, Jiu De Mai tentatively spoke, her voice slightly unsteady:

"Boss...you're not kidding, are you?"

"Of course I'm not joking. As long as you can do it, as I said before, the bondage of the contract will be completely broken, and you will gain true freedom. But when that time comes, don't forget to whisper sweet nothings in my good brother's ear and tell him that he has a poor little brother freezing in the Arctic, and ask him to come and save my poor and helpless little brother."

The boy took another sip of red wine, his gaze drifting to the window, seemingly looking at something and thinking about nothing in particular.

"Boss, what about that 'three-no' girl? Is her task the same as ours?" Su Enxi asked, as if she had suddenly thought of something.

"Yes, same." The boy nodded.

"But boss, her personality doesn't seem like that of someone who can complete this kind of task," Mai Shude said, her tone carrying a subtle hint of probing, clearly wanting to give her companion a chance as well.

Instead of worrying about her, you should worry about yourselves. She has a much bigger advantage than you, and her progress will only be faster.

Mai and Su Enxi seemed to want to say something more, but were interrupted by the boy raising his hand:

"Alright, that's all for now. I look forward to your good news."

Before the words were even finished, the boy had already disappeared, leaving only two beautiful girls in the room looking at each other, their eyes filled with helplessness and confusion.
